This drink would go perfectly with these killer tasting fish tacos, you know, just to keep with the tropical them and all.
And don’t let this pretty blue alcohol drink fool you. The bright blue color is from curacao and it’s as pretty as it is boozy. Mix that together with vodka and you’ve got yourself a pretty substantial cocktail.
So I do admit, I’m pretty new to the world of seafood. I’ve always liked the usual stuff – lobster, shrimp, buckets of clams – bring them on. But fish like flounder, not so much. Until my wife and I went to Florida last year and she made me eat fish tacos.
I literally couldn’t stop eating them. The fish tacos we ate in Florida were made from grouper, and it was the best tasting fish I had ever eaten. Not that my range was wide – but it was good.
What Is Blue Curaçao?
Blu Cauaço is a bright blue colored, slightly bitter orange flavored liquor that is used to make many tropical cocktails like the popular Blue Hawaiian cocktail. The liquor gets it’s flavor from the peel of the laraha citrus fruit, grown on the island of Curaçao.
That’s why the orange bitters goes so nicely with this Deep Blue Sea Cocktail since blue curaçao already has orange flavors in it. So you may think those blue colored alcoholic drink recipes are just sweet drinks that don’t pack a punch…and you’d be wrong.
Make yourself a Deep Blue Sea cocktail or two, whip up a few fish tacos, sit out on the deck and enjoy the summer!Print
