Pepperoni Pizza Totchos Recipe

So what the heck are totchos??? Totchos is a combination on the words “Nachos” and “Tater Tots”. So you could say tater tot nachos or totchos. We like saying totchos just because it sounds like more fun. These Pepperoni Pizza Totchos are our take on this fun appetizer recipe, but you could add SO many different ingredients…the list is pretty endless.

How Do You Make Totchos?

Start off by grabbing your favorite bag of frozen tater tots at the grocery store. You can use regular sized tater tots or the mini version, either one will work. Cook the tater tots according to the package directions to get them really crispy before adding any topping.

That is the one tip I have to making these Pepperoni Pizza Totchos, start with really crispy tater tots as they will lose a it of crispiness when you add the toppings on top.

When the tots are crispy, add pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and mini pepperoni. Bake until the cheese is melted and these totchos are done.

You can see here that we started off with crispy, baked tater tots before adding our pizza toppings. I even bake the tater tots a little more that the instructions say, we’re talking extra crispy here guys.

When you first serve these Pepperoni Pizza Tatchos the toppings will be perfectly gooey and cheesy on top of those crispy tots, so you do need to serve this dish immediately after i comes out of the oven. After it sits, the tater tots will get a little soggy on you but I haven’t seen anyone that cares all that much.

Can You Reheat Totchos?

As we’ve said about the crispy versus soggy tater tots, the short answer is yes. Because we would hate for you to throw any of these cheesy, delicious totchos away, if you actually have any left.

Use a spatula to place any leftover totchos into a container or on a plate to go into the fridge. That way you still have a layer of tater tots as your base. Then when it’s time to reheat, use a spatula to place the leftover totchos on a baking sheet that’s been sprayed with cooking spray and place in a 400 degree oven for about 10-15 minutes.

Your totchos will crisp back up on the bottom and the toppings will melt again so you can have yourself another party.
