A Fun Champagne Cocktail For Parties

Prosecco and margaritas are two of the wife’s favorite things to drink. Besides wine. She has a few favorite drinks I guess. When she and her friends get together the champagne is constantly flowing, and it flows for a long, long time.

I’m always looking for fun and tasty drink recipes to serve at parties, or just for happy hour at home. These Champagne Margaritas totally fit the bill! They are, for one, super fun to drink. The tart flavor of a margarita goes perfectly with crisp champagne or prosecco. And these champagne cocktails definitely bring the fun!

Not many people can resist a bubbly glass of these drinks, so make sure to have enough mixed up for a crowd!

How Do You Make Champagne Margaritas?

All you have to do is mix together a margarita base…we used tequila because it has such a clean flavor and mixes well with just about everything.

Then we paired it with our favorite, more inexpensive prosecco or champagne – it’s affordable at only about 12 dollars a bottle and the flavor can’t be beat. We like to use a champagne that’s dryer as opposed to sweet but that’s also up to you.

You aren’t going to want to use your expensive, fancy bottle of champagne for these Champagne Margaritas, just a good quality, middle ground bottle that you enjoy drinking.

You can rim the glasses with salt to mimic that margarita flavor, or leave them plain. All you need to do to rim the glasses is rub a cut lime around the edge and then roll in kosher salt or sea salt. Sea salt will have a milder flavor than kosher salt, so it’s our choice for rimming cocktails like this one.

I switch between Prosecco and Freixenet but this is a great way to use up the rest of that bottle. I’ve been buying a bottle for the New Year and it’s rough figuring out how to drink it up when you’re on your own. :)

Well, I’m glad to be able to help. We usually don’t have much “leftover” prosecco around here…but I have lots of other ideas for you if you need them! Also, I have the perfect champagne stopper that really saves the bubbles if you’d like me to email you a link. That way you can enjoy the bottle over a couple of days. Have a happy New Year!

Thank you Kelly! I actually bought them at a local store here in Jersey called Home Goods. The brand was called Libbey (knob hill) was the specific name. I just tried looking for them to give you a link but didn’t have any luck on the flutes. Let me know if you find them!
